Attack on Rotimi Akeredolu Support Group

Men Suspected to be political thugs allegedly attacks the meeting point of Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu (Governor of Ondo State) supporters in Owo, his hometown.

According to report, the said men injured many members of the All Progressive Congress (APC) at their meeting venue in in Igboroko area of the town. 

They also destroyed a bus branded "Akeredolu for second term".

According to report from an eye witness, the said attackers started shooting indiscriminately to made known their arrival at the venue of the meeting. Stray bullets hit many of the governor's supporters. 

Mr Olayemi Olamide who happens to be the leader of the group alleged that the attack was sponsored by one of the governorship aspirant of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Owo town.

"We were holding our meeting as a group to declare our support for Governor Rotimi Akeredolu when these thugs brandishing sophisticated weapons such as gun, axes and cutlasses arrived in two vans and white pick up. 

"The thugs sporadically fired gunshots in the open and destroyed Akeredolu campaign bus packed along the street. People ran for their dear lives as the attack lasted for about an hour.
